The organisation started its operations in Buvuma district-Uganda in October 2012 with a mission of Empowering children, youths and women/men with practical knowledge and skills for scale and sustainable livelihoods. We implement a wide range of activities aimed at improving the living standards of children, youths and women. These include; Women Small Enterprise development trainings, economic strengthening activities, Orphans and other vulnerable children program, sexual reproductive health and HIV/AIDs, Information and Communication Technology training, vocational training and youth skills development. To empower vulnerable Children, Adolescent Girls & Young Women (AGYW), women/Men and youth with practical knowledge and skills for self-dependence, sustainable livelihoods, and building the healthy environments they need to thrive, and empower them to create lasting change in their own lives and communities.

Community Empowerment for Needy Foundation (CENF) is a Non-Profit and Non-Governmental organisation initiated in October 2012 to help spearhead community driven development initiatives and enable needy community groups participate in integrated activities to achieve quality livelihood and be self-sustainable.
Community Empowerment for Needy Foundation (CENF) provides services in entrepreneurship and development, information technology trainings and empowerment (ICT), education health and education in HIV/AIDS management and awareness, malaria and TB awareness and advocacy, Rehabilitation of street children, supporting orphans and vulnerable children, deployment of both local and international volunteers to various community projects, community entrepreneurship/community microfinance trainings and monitoring (Community Savings and loaning) ,Capacity Building sessions to youth groups, vocational schools, primary and secondary schools, organic farming and agricultural activities, Eco-Tourism, Environmental education and Management.
CENF officially began operations in October, 2012, under the umbrella Organisation Buvuma Development Agency to mitigate the educational, nutritional, poverty and health related needs of critically vulnerable single and dual orphaned children and impoverished widows in Buvuma Island, Lubya Island, Busamuzi sub county, and Buwooya sub counties to provide educational opportunities for youth in Buvuma District.
Since its inception, CENF has grown into an influential grassroot organization in the field of youth and women empowerment and support. The organization's services have grown to cover a wide range of programs that include, women network for enterprise identification and development,
Food security and nutrition promotion, youths' capacity building and training, orphans and elderly livelihoods improvements, sexual and reproductive health awareness; and hygiene and health awareness clubs in schools and care for people living with HIV/AIDs and disabilities.
OVERALL CENF GOAL:
We work to implement innovative community-based initiatives to empower vulnerable children, women, youths and men with knowledge, skills and appropriate information and services for self-dependence.
